Bank CEO resigns
Kiwibank chief executive Paul Brock has announced his resignation after seven years of leading the company. He will leave at the end of the year.

Brock has been with the state-owned lender for more than 17 years. He was part of the team that created and launched the bank in 2002. He was appointed chief executive in September 2010.

Chair of the bank, Susan Macken said Brock had done a great job of setting the bank up to continue to expand and prosper.

Macken said the board and the shareholders thank Brock for his contribution in making the bank a success and wish him well with his future endeavours.

During the previous year, there have been major changes to the bank including New Zealand Post selling 47% of its shareholding of the bank to the New Zealand Super Fund (25%) and ACC (22%).

According to Brock he had a very rewarding 17 years with the bank, but he would now like to take a break and consider what the future holds.

The outgoing chief executive thanked the staff and management for their loyalty and commitment to making the bank a success.

The search for a new CEO will begin immediately, Macken said.
