Far out Friday: You don’t want your rental flat featured on this list

A New Zealand flat has made it on to a list of the world’s worst rentals.

The New Zealand apartment that has been named on a world’s worst rentals list is offering a spot on a sofa for $480 a month, according to the NZ Herald.

"Please read carefully I would like to rent my couch in my living room," the owner stated in the advert.

The dark red, three-seater sofa, complete with five brown cushions and a white throw, was listed on the Tumblr site The Worst Room, shining the spotlight on the most awful flats, rooms and even couches available for rent in some of the world's biggest cities.

A Sydney apartment was also included on the list and features a toilet and shower right next to the kitchen sink and no door, for A$350/week.

Listed in the elite eastern suburb of Darlinghurst, its owners made sure to point out the bright side, describing it as "perfect for the keen multi-tasker".

Another one was included in London, a less than spacious storage cabinet metres above the ground, situated in Paddington. The site stated the tiny space "would suit someone with no history of claustrophobia". A positive was the rental price of A$78, well below the average weekly rent in London at $649.
