Fidelity Life announces first technology chief
Fidelity life has appointed Dan Wilkinson as its first Chief Technology Officer in a move to invest in its “digital backbone”, the insurer announced yesterday.

In the newly created role, Wilkinson will be responsible for “driving Fidelity’s Life’s technology roadmap, a key strategic focus for the company”. He will report directly into CEO Nadine Tereora as part of her executive team.

Tereora said the role of technology in delivering seamless experiences for customers, financial advisers and partners underlined the importance of Wilkinson’s new role.

“I’m absolutely delighted to welcome someone of Dan’s calibre to the team.

“Technology and customer insights will deliver innovation to drive customer engagement, improving product and service performance. This will also underpin growth for Fidelity Life, our advisers and partners,” Tereora said.

Wilkinson said he is relishing the prospect of leading Fidelity Life’s technology programme.

“Fidelity Life is an icon of the New Zealand life insurance industry. I’m really looking forward to working with Nadine and the team to evolve the company’s digital offering so that it supports innovation, productivity and improved support for our customers, advisers and partners,” Wilkinson said.

Wilkinson has extensive digital experience, and joins Fidelity Life from Suncorp (New Zealand) where he served as the Customer Technologies Executive Manager and previously as the eCommerce Executive Manager. Prior to Suncorp, Wilkinson held the Head of Business Systems position at AA Insurance.
