FSF to host inaugural finance conference
The Financial Services Federation is set to host its first-ever industry conference that will provide insight on the impacts of regulation, technology and legislation to the industry’s future.

The conference will feature a line-up of local and international speakers, who will discuss significant changes in New Zealand businesses, at the Pullman Hotel, Auckland, on Nov. 9.

“There is certainly demand for a conference dedicated to the consumer credit space, and we also believe the theme of looking towards the future is quite timely,” FSF executive director Lyn McMorran said. “After the Global Financial Crisis there was a time of reflection and much-needed regulatory overhaul. Now, the industry is in a good position where it should be looking at innovation and how to secure its future.”

FSF said former TVNZ broadcaster Rawdon Christie will host the programme and veteran political broadcaster Barry Soper will deliver a post-Election digestive.

The conference will also feature a panel discussion between dispute resolution services, a section for the Commerce Commission to voice its focus areas and concerns, and advancement reveal in the finance technology with Fintech NZ’s Mitchell Pham.

“We are looking forward to hosting this conference as a chance for discussion, networking, and a way to help delegates positively prepare for the future of the responsible finance industry,” McMorran said.
