ANZ appoints new member to leadership team

ANZ New Zealand has announced the appointment of Grant Knuckey as its new Chief Risk Officer. He will also be responsible for the bank's risk in the Pacific region.

Knuckey has held the CEO role for ANZ for various regions over the past 20 years, having most recently spent two years as CEO Americas, based in New York. He was also previously CEO for Japan and Korea, based in Tokyo, and CEO for Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, based in Phnom Penh.

Knuckey will replace Bruce Macintyre, who retired at the end of 2019.

He has a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (Economics) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degrees from Victoria University of Wellington and an MBA from Trinity College in Ireland.

He will commence his role on 3 February as an Auckland-based member of the New Zealand leadership team, reporting to ANZ NZ CEO Antonia Watson.

This is the latest in a number of changes to ANZ’s leadership team, most notably with the appointment of Antonia Watson as CEO in December of last year. The search for a new managing director retail and business banking is still ongoing.
