Pepper Money appoints two new BDMs

Pepper Money has appointed two new BDMs to its team in the North and South Islands, and has promoted two existing employees to the Key Accounts team.

New BDM Lisa Thompson will be joining the South Island team from Vero Insurance, while Lauren Midgley will be joining on the North Island from Ezypay. New Zealand country head Aaron Milburn said the appointments reflect the growing adviser support for Pepper Money, and noted that the new BDMs came “highly recommended” by the adviser channel.

“The way we’re approaching the market is really what’s driving our success,” Milburn commented.

“We really take time to try and understand what the advisers are trying to do, and the problems they’re trying to solve for their consumers.”

“We haven’t gone into New Zealand and tried to change the world - what we’ve done is gone in there with a really strategic focus and looking at how we can help Kiwi families, and we do that by partnering with advisers,” he explained.

“But we make sure that the education of those advisers is the cornerstone of what we do.”

Pepper Money’s New Zealand team now has nine people in total, and existing employees Ashleigh Pritchard and Latai Takai have been promoted to the Key Accounts team.

Milburn noted that Midgley and Thompson have significant business development experience, and were both singled out by advisers based on their previous experiences of working with them.

“We made it known that we were looking to expand the team, and we had advisers recommend Lisa and Lauren based on their previous experiences with them, and their knowledge of them in the marketplace,” Milburn said.

“They are proven ‘people people’, they love working on building businesses and they have proven track records in their fields of business development. We want to bring in people who will bring a different edge to our organisation, and a different way of looking at third party sales, which is a growth area in New Zealand.”
