He has been acting in the role since mid-March
ANZ Bank has appointed Stuart McKinnon as the new institutional managing director for New Zealand.
McKinnon has been the acting managing director, institutional, since mid-March following the appointment of Paul Goodwin as the United States Country Head of ANZ. Under the role, he will lead the bank in “helping customers position themselves for the future and rebuilding the New Zealand economy.”
McKinnon has held numerous senior relationship positions in his 23 years at ANZ New Zealand, most recently being the head of institutional relationships and head of loans and specialised finance.
Commenting on the appointment, ANZ NZ chief executive officer Antonia Watson said: “Stuart has invaluable experience across all areas of institutional banking and is known for his expertise in relationship banking and building strong, engaged teams.”
“I'm delighted that he'll be leading our Institutional team at this challenging time. Our customers – like us – are facing volatile financial markets, changing regulations, new policies, and ways of doing business.
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) did not voice out any objections regarding McKinnon's appointment.
