ASB names new executive general manager

ASB has announced the appointment of Craig Sims as executive general manager, retail banking.

Sims joins ASB from ANZ Australia, where he held a number of leadership roles both in New Zealand and Australia prior to being customer operations lead in Melbourne. He holds a wealth of banking experience having worked across 18 different markets in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region, and has held roles in sales, strategy, human resources, technology, retail and business banking.

“Craig is a great addition to the ASB leadership team,” ASB chief executive Vittoria Shortt said. “He is highly regarded with extensive experience and a proven track record of progressive thinking.”

“I’m excited by the prospect of being able to make a difference in the lives of New Zealanders and using my knowledge to help ASB continue making banking simpler, and accelerating the financial progress of its customers,” Sims added.
