ASB offers lowest fixed interest rates

ASB is offering the lowest fixed rate interest rates on 18 months and three year home loans.

BNZ, Westpac and ASB are all offering 4.39% fixed rates, but ASB is offering that rate for a fixed term of 18 months, whereas BNZ and Westpac are offering it for a fixed year of one year.

The Big Four and Kiwibank are all offering 4.65% fixed for two years.

ASB is offering 0.01% less than the rest on their three year fixed term rate.

Last week, the Reserve Bank as forecast announced it would keep the Official Cash Rate (OCR) at 1.75%.

Despite the average house in New Zealand being valued above $600,000 and house price expected to increase over the next 12 months, interest are expected to remain at record lows.
