BNZ outperforms rivals for KiwiSaver satisfaction

BNZ tops the list for customer satisfaction among KiwiSaver providers according to Consumer NZ.

BNZ outperforms rivals for KiwiSaver satisfaction
KiwiSaver customers have been asked their opinions on the savings scheme and those that provide it with an average of 46% saying they are very satisfied with their provider.

The poll by non-profit Consumer NZ puts BNZ at the top of the satisfaction rankings with 68% saying they are very satisfied with an additional 19% somewhat satisfied.

“I am proud of all our teams – those who help everyday Kiwis via our call centres and retail store network, right through to those who partner with businesses to help their employees achieve their retirement and saving goals,” said BNZ chief executive Anthony Healy.

The survey also revealed concerns among KiwiSaver customers about where their funds are being invested, something that’s important for more than three-quarters of respondents.

A similar proportion said they would be concerned if their money was being invested in the weapons industry, something that BNZ actively avoids. Consumer NZ’s CEO Sue Chetwin praised the bank for that policy.

Ms.Chetwin said that the BNZ performance was something she hopes the industry can replicate and called the 46% average satisfaction rating for KiwiSaver providers “disappointing”.

BNZ’s head of wealth and private bank Donna Nicolof said: “Everyone should be investing in KiwiSaver, whether it’s to get into your first home or to help secure a more comfortable retirement.”
