Kiwibank set to move corporate office

Major lender Kiwibank has announced its expansion into a new corporate site in Auckland.

By late 2020, Kiwibank’s Auckland corporate staff will house the new building at 155 Fanshawe Street. The bank has secured naming rights to the six-green star-rated building designed by property developers Mansons.

According to Kiwibank, the new building gives the bank an opportunity to boost its presence and offering in Auckland – for both personal and business customers.

“As New Zealand’s largest Kiwi owned bank we have been under represented in Auckland,” Kiwibank CEO Steve Jurkovich said. “This investment in a world-class facility matches our Wellington presence and steps up our Auckland footprint.

“Auckland provides further options for people to join Kiwibank as a team member. Our location will also position us near other leading New Zealand companies and at the centre of the largest innovation and technology hub in New Zealand,” he noted.

Jurkovich said the move “makes a lot of sense” and will help Kiwibank meet its sustainability targets, particularly around energy usage. The 2,429 square metre floor space will provide Kiwibank nearly 25% more floor space than in the present location at 151 Victoria Street West.

“More space in Auckland means we can spread our senior leader presence and reduce risk from a business continuity planning perspective,” he concluded.
