A major bank will welcome a new director of retail and marketing on-board in February.

BNZ has appointed Paul Carter to the role of director of retail and marketing at the bank, commencing on 1 February 2017 subject to Reserve Bank of New Zealand non-objection.
 
CEO Anthony Healy says he is delighted to welcome Carter to the team.
 
“Paul has the right blend of skills and leadership potential to lead this important division and a strong reputation for outstanding strategic insight and delivery,” said Healy.
 
Carter currently holds the role of executive general manager (EGM) of wealth products with responsibility for NAB's superannuation, investments and asset management businesses.  

Prior to that he worked at NAB at an EGM level for business operations and strategy, and corporate and institutional wealth. He has also held senior roles at Citigroup Smith Barney and The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), both in Melbourne and New York.
 
“Paul has a very strong track record of lifting customer satisfaction,” said Healy. “His experience in strategy and marketing at Boston Consulting combined with his work at NAB in integrating the retail and wealth divisions have honed his understanding of consumer banking and wealth needs.” 
 
Carter said he was looking forward to the challenge of the role, “I am very excited about the opportunity to build momentum and help the Retail and Marketing Leadership team deliver its strategy and drive performance.”
