Major bank’s new national manager of third party

Westpac’s Colin Smith has been appointed the National Manager for both the MMM and Third Party channels and has been with the bank for 25 years.  

His time at the major has seen him in various bank manager roles in Hawkes Bay and Hamilton and also am Area Manager in Waikato/Taranaki as well as all the various Auckland areas. 

He was also the Regional Manager Central which covered the retail network from Bay of Plenty to Taranaki and down to Wellington. 

“My first priority has been to meet as many Advisors as possible and get a feel for what's happening in the industry,” says Smith.

“Travelling to different parts of New Zealand and talking to people is helping me get an understanding of what's going well and where we can improve.”
Smith says they want to continue to enhance the bank’s digital offering. 

“Making sure our service standards are in line with our customers expectations is a big focus - we have seen a good improvement in this area. 

“We are also committed to working in partnership with our Advisors and our Trail model is an indication of this.”

A number of business development managers have also joined the Westpac team including Carmen Moran as BDM for Waikato/BOP/Hawkes Bay and Stephen Hogg as BDM in Wellington.

Rachael Lelean has also been appointed Westpac’s National Manager of Accreditation and Training.
