Prospa expands NZ business with new BDMs

Small business lending specialist Prospa has appointed Karmen De Wet and Cristina Barandiaran as business development managers for its New Zealand business.

In their new roles, De Wet and Barandiaran will focus on building and leveraging new and existing adviser partnerships. They will be responsible for driving growth and delivering cash flow products and services that enable small businesses to prosper.

De Wet joins Prospa from Eclipx Commercial New Zealand and FlexiGroup NZ, where she held sales development roles. At Prospa, she will be based in Auckland.

Meanwhile, Barandiaran was appointed internally. Having been with the company for more than three years, she played an integral role in Prospa’s New Zealand operations since its pilot launch in late 2018.

“We’re delighted to further expand our local team with two stellar appointments,” Prospa NZ general manager Adrienne Church said. “Karmen and Cristina bring strong industry knowledge to these roles and share our vision of keeping small business in New Zealand moving.”

“Their proven dedication to customer experience will deliver outstanding results for those adviser partners, both new and existing, who are looking to diversify and capitalise on the massive opportunity in small business lending,” she added.

Prospa launched in New Zealand in March. On June 11, Prospa listed on the ASX. At the time, firm said significant portion of funds raised will go toward investing in new products and growing the New Zealand market.
