Prospa New Zealand welcomes new BDMs

Small business lender Prospa has appointed Huia Manuel (pictured, with Adrienne Church) and Daniel Vellekoop as its regional business development managers.

According to Prospa, the new hires will be responsible for developing new partnerships with advisers across the country. They will help deliver cashflow products and services that keep small business moving.

Manuel joins Prospa from Resimac, where she was head of sales. She brings more than 14 years of experience in the financial sector in New Zealand and Australia, including working with BankSA as BDM for South Australia and the Northern Territory. In her new role, Manuel will focus on partner engagement in Auckland and the wider North Island.

Meanwhile, Vellekoop was previously a mortgage adviser with The Mortgage Lab and People Property Financiers. He also has expertise in business and small business banking, with more than six years working with leading banking institutions including ASB Bank, Bank of New Zealand and ANZ Bank. In his new role, Vellekoop will look after advisers in Christchurch and the wider South Island.

Prospa general manager Adrienne Church said they are thrilled to expand its team in New Zealand with such “exceptional talent.”

“Huia and Daniel’s collective experience in lending and fostering effective partnerships will help us deliver much needed funding to small business owners all over the country,” Church noted. “Prospa is transforming the way small business owners access finance in New Zealand and there is a huge opportunity for advisers wanting to create new revenue streams and provide a more holistic service to their clients.

“We’re excited to have found passionate people to help reinforce us as the partner of choice for any adviser out there looking to diversify and grow their business,” she added.
