REINZ reveals winners of 2020 awards for excellence

The Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) has celebrated outstanding individuals, offices, and agencies from different sectors in the industry, with a host of well-known names taking the spotlight.

The 2020 REINZ Awards for Excellence, hosted at Cordis Auckland on November 17, had over 550 attendees across the country with over 41 awards presented to individuals, offices, and agencies with excellent performance in the industry.

“Every year, we have a significant number of high-calibre entries, many of whom have won their own local or agency awards making for some extremely tough competition. It has been great to be able to come together and celebrate success from across the country. To win one of these awards is to be the best of the best, and that is a noteworthy achievement,” said REINZ chief executive Bindi Norwell.

Harcourts New Zealand took the spotlight, winning the top prize in seven categories, including the Medium Agency of the Year and the Community Award (large) for supporting the community on Auckland’s North Shore.

Other winners at Harcourts included: Jen Neil (Harcourts Accommodation Centre in Christchurch), Residential Property Manager of the Year; Matt Webb (Regent Realty, NAI Harcourts Hawke’s Bay), award for the Commercial and Industrial Rising Star of the Year; and Harcourts Orewa – Tandem Property Management in Auckland, Medium Office of the Year for Residential Property Management.

Cameron Bailey from Harcourts Gold Real Estate Papanui, Christchurch, also won both the Residential Salesperson of the Year (volume) and the overall award for Residential Salesperson of the Year.

Harcourts NZ managing director Bryan Thomson commented: “I am extremely proud of everyone from Harcourts who has won an award this year. A lot of hard work is done by our people right across New Zealand, and so to have our team members recognised in this way on the national stage is wonderful.

“In addition to taking out these awards, Harcourts also provided finalists in many categories, reflecting a year of massive commitment across all marketplaces and specialities by our teams.”

Barfoot & Thompson also shone at the event, and is the only agency to have won the Large Agency of the Year Award in the eight years that REINZ has been presenting the award.
