The Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) announced Shane O’Brien as the new region four director to the REINZ Board.

O’Brien brings more than 25 years of real estate industry experience to the REINZ Board. He previously worked with Bayleys Real Estate, where he was manager, director and shareholder. In 2008, he became a fellow of REINZ. Currently, O’Brien is the director of Northington AgriCapital Limited and the national director of Colliers International Rural & Agribusiness.

“We are delighted to welcome Shane as our newest regional director,” REINZ Board chair Bridget Coates said. “He brings a wealth of experience and local knowledge of the Canterbury/West Coast region. I look forward to working with him closely moving forward.”

O’Brien was elected to the board following the early retirement of Jim Davis, who stepped down from his position to travel overseas.

“Jim has made a significant contribution to the Institute during his time on the REINZ Board,” Coates added. “We are grateful for all his knowledge, insight and the value he has brought to the industry during the last four years.”
