RESIMAC offers brokers alternative to mainstream lending
RESIMAC Home Loan’s first mortgage repayment refund offer has proved a strong tool in opening doors for specialist and low doc borrowers, the lender says.

Early last month, the lender announced for a limited time, it would refund the first month of mortgage repayments for specific customers.

RESIMAC general manager Adrienne Church said at the time, it highlighted the lender’s commitment to providing options for customer who fall outside of mainstream lending.

Church said yesterday that the lender had seen a 15% increase in application volumes since it launched the repayment option on November 1, and as a result, the lender has been able to help more Kiwis overcome barriers to home ownership.

The limited-time offer saw RESIMAC offering a refund of the first month’s repayment on all specialist and low doc settlements, on applications received during the campaign.

“Another positive outcome of the offer is the opportunity it created to work with advisers who were previously unaware of what RESIMAC offers, and how we can help their clients,” Church said.

“Advisers need tools to help the increasing number of good borrowers who fall outside of mainstream criteria. RESIMAC has strong products for niche – but growing – segments of the market. The offer highlighted that strength and gave us the opportunity to help more advisers help their clients.”

“As we regularly say to advisers we work with: if an application doesn’t fit the norm, don’t put it in the ‘too hard basket’. Give RESIMAC a call; the chances are we’ll be able to help,” Church added.
