Westpac NZ appoints new board member

Westpac New Zealand has appointed commercial lawyer Pip Greenwood to its Board, which will now be comprised of eight directors.

Greenwood joins the Board as an independent non-executive director, effective 1 April 2019.

She will be retiring from an 18 year partnership with law firm Russell McVeagh on 31 March 2019, which included more than 10 years' experience on the firm's Board and a period as Board Chair.

Greenwood also holds directorship roles at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare and Spark.

Westpac NZ Board Chair Jan Dawson said she was delighted to have someone of Greenwood’s calibre joining the Westpac NZ Board.

“Pip brings a broad range of commercial experience and expertise to the role that will benefit Westpac NZ. She is a strategic thinker with vast experience in corporate transactions,” Dawson said.

Greenwood has been awarded 'New Zealand Dealmaker of the Year' five times at the Australasian Law Awards and was a finalist in the Women of Influence Awards, hosted by Westpac and Stuff, in 2017 and 2015.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Canterbury.
